Carlos Alberto Fernández Urbano, better known as CAFU, is one of the most well-know names in the American comic book industry. The acclaimed Spanish artist’s bibliography includes standout titles such as Iron Man and Fantastic Four, among many others.

CAFU began his career as an illustrator in the early 2000s, before making his breakthrough in the U.S. with DC Comics. There, he quickly made his mark on titles such as Action Comics, Superman, and Grifter, as well as the acclaimed T.H.U.N.D.E.R. Agents, which became one of the standout projects of his early career.

He later signed an exclusive contract with Valiant Entertainment, taking on a key role in shaping the visual identity of series including Rai, Imperium, and Shadowman. His work during this period helped establish the look and feel of some of Valiant’s most important characters and titles.

In recent years, CAFU has become a familiar name at Marvel Comics, contributing to some of the publisher’s most high-profile projects. Among his most acclaimed work are Jane Foster: Valkyrie and his run on the ongoing Iron Man series, along with contributions to Spider-Man, Venom, and Fantastic Four.
