Javier (Javi) Fernández is a Spanish comic book artist, internationally known for his work as a cover artist and regular contributor to many of DC Comics’ most important titles, such as Batman, as well as for his run on King Spawn (the #1 bestselling comic of 2021).

His first professional job was in 2010, working on titles for Kickstart Comics. In 2011, he began working with Marvel Comics on Captain America. He also worked on a series of Magneto issues in 2014.

Since 2011, Javi Fernández has been a regular on many successful DC Comics titles, including Batman, Nightwing, Detective Comics, Justice League, Green Arrow, and many more.

In 2021, Javi began working as the lead artist on King Spawn, one of Todd McFarlane’s expanded Spawn Universe titles, published by Image Comics.

After three years with the franchise, Javi returned to DC as the regular artist on the iconic Batman & Robin series, while continuing to achieve success as a cover artist.

In 2026, Fernández took charge of DC’s annual publishing event, DC KO, which has broken all sales records since Metal.

He is currently working on a new project for DC that will be released later this year.
